It’s 11:29 and the baby is wailing.

November 18, 2008

It’s Monday night. It’s not too late yet. On Saturday my wife really needed some sleep so I stayed up until 4 AM so my wife could get some rest. The baby was in pack n play next to our bed. I was in the living room playing around on my computer and when he fussed I rushed in to grab him and settle him down or feed him.

That was a good night for her.

Tonight we made a deal that she would go to bed at 9PM. It wasn’t as much of a deal as it was she was being forced to head off to bed by me and her mom so she could try to bank at least 4 straight hours again.

If you have children you know that babies are totally unpredictable. My wife was  up with the screaming baby until 10:30 because he couldn’t get a much needed burp out. She can’t sleep when he really gets to crying and she was up later than planned. He slept for an hour and started crying again.

So much for my wife sleeping.

He’s been home two weeks. He turned two weeks old this last Saturday. The first couple of days were totally joyous although we really didn’t sleep much at all.

I’m starting to feel a little pressure to get back to work, even though I own my own home based business and I don’t have a boss.
